Eka, Encouragement and Research Grants for individual scholars; and Returning Researcher and Research Group Founder Grants for group leaders as well as Grants for Etiology from the Kauppila Fund can be applied for annually between May 1 and May 31st.
The Finnish Medical Society Duodecim awards grants to medical (M.D.) researchers and students, while the Finnish Medical Foundation awards grants to both medical and dental researchers and students.

Note! The application period for the Kauppila Fund Grant has changed. The grant will not be available in the 2026 general grant application round. We will announce the new application period later.
All the applications go through a scientific evaluation process. The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews Eka, Encouragement, and Research Grant applications. The Foundation’s Major Grants Committee reviews applications for Returning Researcher, Research Group Founder, and the Kauppila Grants.
